As the current “Memories in Motion” season approaches its conclusion, Pokemon Go is set to introduce a variety of fresh challenges and new species arrivals. Players can look forward to the debut of the Paldean psychic – type Flittle during the upcoming Spring Marathon, while Mega Falinks will make its first appearance during a specialized Super Mega Raid event.

The final weeks of the season will be packed with activity beyond these debuts. The May schedule includes two distinct Community Day events and the return of several Ultra Beasts and Mega – evolved Pokemon to the global raid pool.

Scheduled raid rotations for May

A significant refresh is coming to the gym rotation throughout the month of May.

The first half of the month focuses on the return of various Ultra Beasts, followed by the appearance of the Alolan guardians Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini. Meanwhile, the Mega Raid slot will cycle through four different powerful forms – Mega Camerupt, Mega Glalie, Mega Altaria, and Mega Medicham – while Shadow Cresselia remains available as the Shadow Raid boss for the duration of the month.

Trainers can plan their battle schedules according to the following specific windows for five – star and specialized encounters.

Shadow Entei raid day event

The month kicks off with a dedicated event focused on one of the most powerful Shadow legendaries.

Between 14:00 and 17:00 local time, the legendary Fire – type Entei will dominate Shadow Raids. During this window, players will benefit from an increased shiny encounter rate and have the opportunity to collect up to six additional raid passes by interacting with gym photo discs.

  • Obtain up to six free raid passes from gym photo discs.
  • Increased probability of encountering Shiny Shadow Entei.
  • The daily remote raid limit increases to 20 (May 1 – 2).

Lechonk Community Day highlights

The spotlight turns to the Paldean hog Pokemon, Lechonk, for the first primary Community Day on May 9.

From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, this boar – like Pokemon will swarm the wild. This event serves as a prime opportunity to collect candy and hunt for shiny versions or those featuring specialized backgrounds.

Evolving Lechonk into Oinkologne before 9:00 PM on event day will grant the Pokemon the exclusive Ground – type Fast Attack, Mud Shot.

Various gameplay bonuses will also be active, including significantly reduced egg hatch distances and doubled capture candy to help trainers maximize their progress.

  • 1/4 egg hatch distance.
  • 2x Candy for catching Pokemon.
  • Double chance for XL Candy for players level 31 and above.
  • Incense lasts for three hours (excluding Daily Adventure Incense).
  • Lure Modules last for one hour.
  • One additional Special Trade available.
  • Trades require 50 percent less Stardust.

Spring Marathon event breakdown

Niantic will host the Spring Marathon in Pokemon Go from May 12 through May 18.

The event emphasizes egg hatching, with 5km eggs featuring floral versions of Pichu, Togepi, and Happiny. Furthermore, this marks the first opportunity for trainers to obtain Flittle, which will be accessible via eggs or the Go Pass.

The marathon will also feature themed Field and Timed Research, rewarding participants with experience points and encounters with unique species like cherry – blossom decorated Eevee.

  • 5km Eggs: Flower Crown Pichu, Togepi, Happiny, and Flittle.
  • Research Encounters: Sakura Eevee, Flower Crown Buneary, and Marathon Visor Pikachu.
  • Level 1 Go Pass: 2x XP for Pokestop spins (3x for Deluxe Pass).
  • Level 2 Go Pass: 1/2 egg hatch distance.

Deino Community Day Classic return

The fan – favorite Dragon – type Deino makes a return for a Community Day Classic on May 16.

Between 14:00 and 17:00 local time, wild Deino spawns will increase dramatically. Evolving Zweilous into Hydreigon by 9:00 PM will ensure the resulting Pokemon knows the powerful Charged Attack, Brutal Swing.

To encourage participation, a triple experience modifier for successful catches will be active alongside extended durations for lures and incense.

  • 3x XP for catching Pokemon.
  • Incense lasts for three hours.
  • Lure Modules last for one hour.

Mega Falinks debut and raid day

A brand new Mega – evolution will be introduced to the game during a special event scheduled for May 23.

Mega Falinks will appear in high – difficulty Super Mega Raids from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Completing these raids allows trainers to earn Mega Energy and offers a chance to catch Falinks in its standard form.

Logistical bonuses for the event include an increased remote raid limit and up to six free raid passes from gyms. Additionally, Timed Research will be available, leading to potential encounters with Mawile for those who participate.

  • Remote Raid limit increased to 20 (May 22 – 23).
  • Up to six free raid passes from gym photo discs.
  • Increased shiny rate for Falinks in Super Mega Raids.
