Bethesda Reveals Massive Roadmap Highlighting The Elder Scrolls VI and Multiple Fallout Projects

Bethesda Game Studios has officially broken its silence regarding the studio’s long-term development roadmap. The company published a comprehensive status update tracking the ongoing evolution of Starfield alongside confirmations for multiple highly anticipated gaming projects – including long-requested remasters of iconic post-apocalyptic titles.

The fantasy epic The Elder Scrolls VI has formally been designated as the studio’s ultimate priority for the foreseeable future. Bethesda revealed that most of its development team is currently deployed to build this next major chapter. Furthermore, the game will share its underlying technology – the brand new Creation Engine 3 – with other upcoming flagship titles.

The wasteland is also preparing for a massive wave of new content as Fallout 5 enters its pre-production stage. This next mainline entry will also leverage the capabilities of Creation Engine 3 – standing as a core long-term pillar for the company while several other undisclosed Fallout projects simultaneously undergo active development.

In a move that surprised many fans, Bethesda announced a formal collaboration with Obsidian Entertainment to develop an entirely new title within the Fallout universe. While specific details about this joint venture remain under wraps – the announcement marks a highly anticipated reunion between the creators of classic wasteland stories.

Nostalgia will take center stage with the official confirmation of remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Although concrete gameplay specifics or release windows have not been disclosed yet – these updated versions aim to bring the legendary RPG experiences to modern hardware standards.

Meanwhile, the multiplayer spin-off Fallout 76 is scheduled for a major narrative injection in 2027 with the Raven Rock expansion – which will act as a direct prequel to Fallout 3. This major release aligns with the franchise’s 30th anniversary in 2027. To celebrate, Bethesda promises “something special” alongside a live community gathering in Washington.

The studio also highlighted the roaring success of its community modding ecosystem and current live-service metrics. Starfield has officially surpassed 17 million players – who have logged nearly one billion hours of playtime – with new Starborn content slated for 2027. Additionally, the Creations platform – which recently debuted in Fallout 4 – has now paid out over $10 million to independent mod authors selling their work via in-game stores.
