The newly launched Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has made franchise history. Released on July 9, the highly anticipated remake quickly bypassed an unprecedented milestone – drawing in over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam.
According to SteamDB, launch day alone saw a peak of 99.5 thousand active players. This easily beats any other game in the series. By comparison, the franchise’s newest entry, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, reached only 64,825 peak concurrent users.

Early indicators already pointed to this triumph. Analysts revealed that pre-sales outpaced total sales of Skull & Bones – another Ubisoft pirate project. On Steam, early demand was 5.39 times higher than that of Assassin’s Creed Shadows at the same stage.
Ubisoft confirmed that over 2 million copies were sold on launch day. This commercial momentum almost guarantees a major victory for the studio.
