GSC Game World has officially unveiled “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope”, also known as “Ціна надії”, which marks the first major story expansion for Heart of Chornobyl. The DLC is scheduled to launch in Summer 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5, with availability also confirmed for Xbox Cloud Gaming.
This massive non-linear adventure promises dozens of hours of additional gameplay as players venture deeper into the heart of the Zone. Developers aim to deliver a signature atmosphere of decay where a flicker of hope remains – introducing strange new characters and unforgettable stories in this bleak landscape.

The narrative centers on the long-standing conflict between the “Duty” and “Freedom” factions, with events occurring parallel to the main story. Players will once again take control of the protagonist Skif, navigating the complex political and supernatural landscape that defines the series.
After installation, a specific PDA signal will trigger the new storyline directly during a playthrough. Every choice will continue to shape the narrative – and the consequences may ripple far beyond the Zone’s borders, potentially affecting the world far beyond the exclusion line.
“Cost of Hope” opens access to two iconic regions: the Iron Forest and the Chornobyl NPP itself. These areas come with their own hubs and missions, supported by a new arsenal of weapons and gear to help Skif survive dangerous mutant encounters and anomalies.

This release marks the midpoint of a “second trilogy” of content for the game. Alongside a future story expansion yet to be detailed, it will form a new narrative arc within the franchise, with more details regarding the Summer 2026 launch expected soon.
Stalkers can already wishlist “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope” on Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Xbox/Microsoft Store. The official store page for the PlayStation 5 version is scheduled to appear at a later date.
