Honkai Star Rail’s Next Major Update Brings Fire-Wielding Hunter and Arcade Adventures

Official livestreams have become the backbone of player expectations for Honkai: Star Rail. These detailed broadcasts reveal upcoming banners, events, and story developments well in advance, allowing the community to plan their pulls and prepare for what’s coming next.

With each new patch, Honkai: Star Rail delivers fresh character banners, limited-time events, and pioneering missions that advance the overarching narrative. The near future promises continued exploration of Amphoreus, a world intrinsically linked to Aha and the Path of Elation. Alongside new story content, every update typically introduces fresh challenges for endgame players—whether through Divergent Universe rotations, Currency Wars content, or other competitive battle modes. Version 4.2 is currently live, while version 4.3 approaches on the horizon. This guide covers everything we know about both the present and upcoming patches.

Version 4.3 launches early in June

Honkai: Star Rail’s next major update arrives Monday, June 1st – two days ahead of the standard schedule. This version 4.3 patch introduces Mortex Blade, a fire-element variant of the game’s most melancholic Stellaron Hunter, bringing fresh power to those struggling with poverty mechanics. The exact reason for the accelerated release remains unclear, but version 4.4 will return to the regular cadence, deploying on Wednesday, July 15th. This timeline comes from the official phase-two banner schedule for version 4.3.

Developer livestream scheduled for early July

The next Honkai: Star Rail livestream is expected to occur on Friday, July 3rd, assuming the standard twelve-day advance announcement pattern holds. The schedule should remain consistent since developers have returned to the regular six-week update cycle, even with the June 1st early deployment. This broadcast will detail all banners and events launching in version 4.4, the patch featuring Himeko Nova’s debut.

Current 4.2 banners and four-star features

Version 4.2’s first phase showcased Silver Wolf Lv.999, The Dahlia, Castorice, and Firefly across character banners running from April 22nd through May 12th. The four-star lineup on these banners consisted of Gallagher, Xueyi, and Hook.

The second phase—currently active through June 1st—features Evanescence, Sunday, Tribby, and Faes Hao. Players pulling on these banners can obtain Guinaifen, Lynx, and Sushang as the featured four-star characters.

Worth noting: Archer and Saber banners remain available. These Fate collaboration banners, which debuted in July 2025, are still accessible for players who haven’t claimed these crossover characters yet.

Four major events transform version 4.2

Beyond the standard double-drop material periods in Planar Fissure, Realm of the Strange, and Garden of Plenty, version 4.2 introduces four distinct event experiences.

Data Space Roaming celebrates the third anniversary

The anniversary event reimagines the Trailblazer as a professional livestreamer debuting in Amphoreus. Players orchestrate and execute broadcasts with customizable configurations, including combat lineups. As you progress, new characters unlock and equipment enhancements become available, while familiar faces appear in bonus segments. The reward: a copy of the four-star Light Cone “Tomorrow, Together.”

Cosmicon returns with cooperative gameplay

Version 2.0 of the Cosmicon Collective card game introduces a major gameplay shift. The card game now supports multiplayer cooperative sessions where players can team up and face boss encounters together. Minor adjustments to the board and ruleset accommodate this collaborative focus.

Astral Express gains party wagon features

The ongoing Astral Express adventure mode receives an update introducing cooperative party wagon functionality. Players unlock the ability to visit their personal party wagon alongside three other Trailblazers simultaneously. Pets can now accompany visitors during these hangout sessions, adding another layer of customization.

Relic Discernment lets players craft perfect builds

This returning event allows players to configure desired relic sets for their characters, then receive upgraded five-star relics at maximum level directly from daily login chests. It’s an efficient path to acquiring the exact gear needed for specific character builds.

Currency Wars expansion raises power ceiling

The second expansion for Currency Wars: Zero Sums increases maximum ascension level to 140 and introduces new rewards. This expansion also implements a team composition editing feature—allowing mid-match adjustments and real-time squad tracking.

The difficulty scaling receives attention too. Maximum ranks now extend to A8-40, pushing challenge levels higher. Four characters enter the roster: Ashveil, Daliya, Evanescence, and the Trailblazer of Elation. A new “Elaythia” bond joins the pool, while existing bonds and character connections receive balance updates.

Version 4.3 ushers in two new character phases

Mortex Blade and Yao Guan headline version 4.3’s first phase, running June 1st through June 24th. When pulling Mortex Blade, players obtain a cosmetic item called “Karmic Flame of the Distant Shore”—a flaming halo orbiting the Trailblazer’s head. This cosmetic occupies an entirely new slot category.

The four-star characters available on these banners are Sampo, Luka, and Tingyun.

Phase two shifts focus to Sirena and Finon, running June 24th through July 14th. The four-star pool expands to include March 7th, Arlan, and Yukong.

The collaboration banners for Archer and Saber continue running throughout this period.

Version 4.3 events emphasize arcade and strategy gameplay

Alongside double-drop material farming windows in Planar Fissure and Realm of the Strange, version 4.3 contains two major events.

Pixel Plane Rumble transforms combat into arcade action

Honkai presents a three-dimensional arcade shooter experience. Picture Star Fox, but in a linear format. Players upgrade their spacecraft using various components to enhance effectiveness against increasingly dangerous opponents. Completing this event grants a new message background, self-molding resin, Trailblazer traces, and Star Jades.

Whispwey Amusement Park demands strategic planning

This top-down strategy mini-game requires players to place objects and optimize pathways for attracting Whispweys. It resembles a scaled-down Roller Coaster Tycoon experience combined with creative queue-building mechanics. The more Whispweys enjoy the environment while traversing queues, the higher your point multiplier becomes. Rewards include Trailblazer Traces and Star Jades.

Version 4.3 expands story and endgame depth

The 4.3 update introduces substantial new content and quality-of-life improvements:

  • New pioneering mission continuing the Amphoreus narrative
  • Fresh explorable area: Inkford Hermitage in Amphoreus
  • Exclusive cosmetic for Blade pulls on his banner (Karmic Flame of the Distant Shore)
  • Gift of Odyssey registration event awarding 10 Special Pass tickets
  • New permanent daily training mission for consistent rewards
  • Fuel vouchers and immersion devices enable instant daily reward claiming
  • Starward Mode debuts in Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, and Apocalyptic Shadow
  • Two new relic sets: How the Navigator Isi Sees It and Divine Question to the Master Forger
  • Fresh Ascension materials for the Quantum path
  • New trace materials for Erudition and Destruction paths
  • Widget functionality rolls out for Star Rail mobile app installations
  • Cross-device synchronization now supports selected gameplay settings, including auto-battle toggles

The steady cadence of Honkai: Star Rail updates ensures players always have fresh content awaiting them. With version 4.3 launching in early June and regular livestream announcements guiding the community forward, the months ahead promise continued expansion into Amphoreus and fresh mechanics to master.
