Crimson Desert Receives Massive 1.03.00 Update Featuring New Abilities and Intel GPU Support

The developers behind Crimson Desert have officially deployed a significant new update – version 1.03.00 – which is now live for players on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5. While the patch is already available for these platforms, the studio noted that the versions for Xbox Series X/S and Mac are currently in the final stages of the release process and will be available shortly.

Global gameplay and navigation updates

  • Players can now utilize the world map to teleport while engaged in activities such as horseback riding, falling, swimming, or climbing walls.
  • A new “Weapon Display” feature has been added – allowing melee weapons to be set to “All” or “Selected Only”, while ranged weapons offer “Always” or “Only when in use” options.
  • The infrastructure within the Graymane Camp has been significantly improved.
  • Discovering Abyss Cores has been simplified, and the visual clarity of environmental puzzles has been enhanced for better player guidance.
  • Standard dialogues that do not feature cinematic black bars can now be accelerated up to 4x speed via the “Other – Language and Gameplay” settings.

Advanced combat skills and character mechanics

  • The character Kliff has gained the “Raven Aerial Strike” ability – which is activated by pressing the dodge button after using “Focus” while in mid-air.
  • Damiana and Unk have been granted access to “Axiom Power” and “Wind Veil” – while their “Shield Throw” and “Close-range Shooting” techniques now incorporate the “Palmara Strike” effect.
  • The control inputs for the “Sky Step” and “Vertical Flight” abilities have been adjusted for both Damiana and Unk.

Battle systems and interaction refinements

  • Target locking for bosses has been improved with an increased retention distance – although this feature has been disabled for certain giant boss encounters.
  • A delay that previously occurred when transitioning to a follow-up attack after a successful block has been fixed.
  • A technical bug that caused abnormally high movement speeds during specific skill combinations has been resolved.
  • The scythe weapon can now be drawn and held while the player is inside designated safe zones.
  • Specific animations have been added for objects that have reached their maximum movement limits.

  • PC players now have official support for Intel Arc graphics cards.
  • New performance options include “Intel XeSS 3.0” and “Intel XeSS Frame Generation” – though developers warn of potential artifacts on A-series hardware.
  • The update introduces support for AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 technology.
  • New graphical toggles have been added – specifically “Offset Degree” and “Decor Mesh Detail.”
  • Console players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can now enable an “Enhanced Ray Tracing” option.
  • A dedicated “PSSR Clarity” setting has been added specifically for PlayStation 5 Pro users.
  • Internal lighting and water reflections have undergone visual improvements.
  • A bug causing rain effects to appear unnaturally bright has been corrected.

User interface and accessibility improvements

  • Users can now inspect item details directly within the storage interface.
  • A mass processing feature has been introduced for the cataloging of goods.
  • The map now features updated icons for visited and unvisited caves – as well as distinct markers for completed Abysses.
  • New accessibility settings include camera field of view, horizontal/vertical camera positioning, auto-rotation, and movement-based correction – along with adjustable minimum font sizes.

Quest corrections and audio additions

  • A progression-breaking bug in Chapter 9 – which prevented quest completion after destroying totems – has been resolved.
  • The update fixes an issue where items collected before a quest’s activation interfered with the ability to finish the objective.
  • Errors that caused key characters – such as Gontir, Henri, Bronton, and Lola – to be replaced by generic NPCs have been addressed.
  • Following the three battle tracks added in version 1.01.00 for the Pywel continent – a new musical composition has been added for the loading screen.
  • The patch also includes a wide array of general stability fixes – targeting critical crashes, interface bugs, and localization issues.
