Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Tops Xbox Charts as Sales Surge Past Full-Year Goals

Following a difficult period for Ubisoft, the publisher is enjoying a massive success with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The newly released game has already surpassed internal sales projections set for the whole of 2026.

Since its debut in early July, the title has sold 3.5 million units across all gaming platforms, easily beating Ubisoft’s expectations for the entire year. An official press release highlighted the performance as a remarkably strong launch.

The successful launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in July, achieving a score of 84 on OpenCritic and Metacritic, with 3.5 million copies sold to date, exceeded full-year expectations in its first 14 days.

Ubisoft Chief Executive Officer Yves Guillemot also offered high praise for Black Flag Resynced in a follow-up statement:

“The successful launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in early July from Vantage Studios is an encouraging validation. The game received the highest ratings among all Assassin’s Creed games since the original Black Flag, and we are thrilled with the praise it has received from players. After two weeks, the game has already exceeded our annual expectations. I would like to sincerely thank the teams whose talent and dedication brought it to life. This launch demonstrates the enduring appeal of the Assassin’s Creed brand, as well as the first benefits of our ongoing transformation and commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences.”

The title is currently dominating the Microsoft Store paid game charts on Xbox, where Black Flag Resynced holds the top position while its Deluxe Edition sits at number six – a truly impressive showing on the storefront.

These strong results suggest Ubisoft will likely concentrate on remaking and remastering more of its classic franchises in the future, with Xbox platforms showing clear momentum for nostalgic hits. Game publishers naturally follow market demand, and the huge success of Black Flag Resynced proves that interest in returning to celebrated classics is stronger than ever.
