We’ve waited for it: The Witcher IV trailer with Ciri in the lead role has been announced

On December 13, 2024, CD Projekt RED finally released the cinematic trailer for The Witcher IV at The Game Awards 2024. We were shown a heated battle with monsters, which the well-known Ciri bravely fought.

The Witcher IV promises to be a single-player game with an open world. Ciri followed in Geralt’s footsteps, carrying two swords on her back and taking potions.

Judging by the trailer, this part will be quite dark, because Ciri was unable to prevent the senseless death of a young girl in the forest. When the game will be released and on what platforms is still unknown. Previously, CD Projekt RED stated that they try not to announce games that will be released later than two years from now.

Thus, the probable release date is no later than 2026.  But what is known is that devoted fans are waiting, and they are going to wait for quite a long time. In the comments under the trailer, there are humorous statements like “I wish I could live until the release”, “Remember that the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer came out 8 years before it came out”.
