Rampage game: remember how it was

George, Lizzie, and Ralph were the most ordinary inhabitants of the USA, but they all mutated for different reasons and turned into giant monsters. Their hearts were filled with rage, and they began to destroy the buildings of the cities. The government is trying to stop them with the help of the armed forces, namely soldiers and helicopters.

You choose who to play for: the evil huge gorilla George (who, by the way, is very similar to King Kong), the mutant lizard Lizzie (similar to Godzilla), or the giant werewolf Ralph.

The video game Rampage has a huge advantage: you can play with friends (up to 3 people). Rampage, like all other arcades, feels endless, but in fact, the game has 728 levels. Can you imagine? That’s how much you can play!

To ​​complete a level, you need to destroy all the buildings in the city. This is not easy, since soldiers will shoot at the characters, causing damage.  By the way, an interesting feature: if your character has too little health, he will turn from a mutant into a man without clothes, who can be eaten by your “partners” – mutants.

To destroy buildings faster, you need to smash them as much as possible, furiously knocking out windows. To replenish your health, you can eat various bonuses in the form of food and even soldiers. There is an interesting fact that one day in the game is equal to one level.

The main characters of the Rampage franchise are Lizzie, George, and Ralph. All of them were ordinary people living in the United States.

The reason for the mutation of the three main characters was the Scumlabs corporation, which was conducting experiments in its laboratories in different parts of the world. The employees of this company are greedy and eager to get rich. Due to contact with radiation and toxic substances, mutations often occurred with civilians and with the employees of the corporation itself, which is what happened to Lizzie, Ralph, and George.

Let’s consider each character in order:

George is a scientist who took an experimental vitamin and turned into a giant gorilla. Features: deftly and quickly climbs buildings, replenishes health with bananas

Lizzie was an ordinary woman who bathed in a toxic lake and as a result, mutated into a huge lizard-dragon.  She weighs little, which makes her quite agile and fast. She replenishes her health with eggs.

Ralph ate a hot dog that had a food additive that turned him into a monster – a giant werewolf. She has low intelligence and animal instinct and restores her health by eating steak.

The sequel to the beloved game was released in 1999. This part is a sequel to Rampage 2: Universal Tour. You can play Rampage 2 on n64 and PlayStation.

What’s new in this part of the game?

• Addition of new mutants: giant Crab, Rat, Rhino, Wolf, and Cyclops.

• New interesting plot: George, Lizzie, and Ralph are captured and thrown into prison. Each is imprisoned in different parts of the world: in the USA, Great Britain, and Japan. The goal: with the help of new mutants, free our heroes. The principle of the game is the same: destroy the city, fight off armed soldiers and equipment, replenish health with fruits and bonuses. At the end of Rampage 2, aliens attack the Earth, with whom you also need to fight (and this is much more difficult because they have better technology).
• The characters get superpowers. For example, the mutant Wolf can destroy a building with his howl, and the Rhino can demolish tanks in his path.

• Now fruits restore not only the health of characters, but also their superpowers.

The sequel to the legendary video game was released in 2006.

Rampage was optimized for PS2. What has changed compared to the oldest version of the game?

• Improved graphics: 3D added, colors became more saturated, and image quality became higher.

• Now you can throw cars that cause more damage to buildings.
• You can climb onto the roof of a building and destroy it with powerful blows.
• New characters appeared. They can be unlocked by eating tokens that are hidden on different levels.

• An unpleasant surprise: now people throw objects at you from windows.

As we remember, the oldest version of the game was released for slot machines. New is well forgotten old. In 2018, Rampage is produced for slot machines by Adrenaline Amusements. Thanks to the release of the same-name film starring Dwayne Johnson (yes, with The Rock himself), the game has become popular again. There is a reason to get together with friends and enjoy the classics on updated screens with excellent quality and graphics. The plot of the game remains the same: you need to destroy buildings with the help of our favorite characters George, Lizzie, and Ralph. The game can be played by up to 3 people.

The controls are quite simple: there is a joystick responsible for movement and a button for destruction.

We will remember with nostalgia this cool first-person shooter for those times.

The game was developed by Xatrix Entertainment and released in 1997. The action of Redneck Rampage takes place in a non-existent town in Arkansas (USA). The goal of the game: is to return your pig, which was kidnapped by aliens, shooting back at the cloned residents of the town.

Farmer Leonard witnessed strange events in his hometown of Hickston. Waking up in the morning in a state of alcoholic intoxication, he discovered that many neighbors and residents of his hometown had disappeared, and clones had appeared in their place. Moreover, mysterious aliens kidnapped Leonard’s pig named Bessie. Having woken up his mentally retarded brother Bubba and sobered up, Leo sets off to destroy the clones.  As in any good shooter, Leonard has a solid arsenal of weapons: a crowbar, a hunting rifle, a shotgun, futuristic guns, a pistol, dynamite, a circular saw, and so on.

The enemies are the same cloned residents of the neighborhood and aliens. The enemies are strong, and in order to defeat some of them, you need to come up with battle tactic.

Brother Bubba is an active character in the game. He is not very smart, he fights poorly, but he is the one who shows Leonard the way out of the level.

To restore his health, Leonard drinks alcohol and meat delicacies. Beer and chips save with minor wounds, in more serious situations, whiskey and moonshine help. However, drinking alcohol hurts Leonardo’s ability to fight: he shoots not at the target, but past, and he stands poorly on his feet.  Throughout the game we try to find the leader of the aliens, making our way through dumps, sawmills, and rural areas.

The game Redneck Rampage has puzzles. For example, you need to find a switch lever to open the doors.
