ToggleCombat Zone Fallout 4: Location
The Combat Zone in Fallout 4 is one of the famous locations where you can get a partner in the person of Cait and fight to the death with raiders.
“Once a public theater building, it was taken over by raiders hostile to outsiders. Tommy Lonegan, a dark-skinned ghoul, announces the fights, while Cait, one of the best fighters, slits throats in the ring.” – Description from the Survival Guide about Combat Zone.
The Combat Zone in Fallout 4 is located in the Theater District, specifically in the eastern part of central Boston, south of the Boylston Club and east of Diamond City. The Combat Zone is located on the site of the former Orpheum Theater, which has been converted into a sort of fight club for raiders.
Combat Zone Fallout 4: Tactics & Tips
As soon as you get into Combat Zone, on the left you will see tied-up raiders behind bars. There is a sign next to it – Violators of the rules. These raiders are not hostile towards you, but they may react unkindly to you. You can unlock the terminal near the bars and go to the captives, but you will not be able to free or untie them.
Further, if you go straight ahead, you will see a large cage dominating the stage, and on the left below is a lounge area and a bar.
To clear The Combat Zone in Fallout 4, engage in a firefight. Melee attacks don’t work that well given how spread out the raiders are, so you’ll need to find a place to take cover. Use VATS to pick off raiders one by one. To avoid getting hit by Molotov cocktails, move often and as much as possible.
Tip 1: If you want to throw explosives at raiders, don’t throw them towards the stage (unless you want to hurt 2 innocent NPCs who aren’t involved in the fight).
Tip 2: The best tactic in Combat Zone is stealth. A pistol with a silencer will help you quietly take out most of the raiders before they even notice you. Start clearing out the bandits from above (the guard booth) and gradually move down, remembering to check the corners.
You can talk to Tommy, the owner of the Combat Zone in Fallout 4, only after you have completely cleared the location of the raiders. He will tell you about the Combat Zone, and also introduce you to his best fighter, Cait, and offer you a contract with her. If you agree, Cait will now be your companion. For clearing the Combat Zone, Tommy will reward you with 100 Bottlecaps.
Combat Zone Fallout 4: Valuables
In addition to junk, you can find some valuable things in Combat Zone:
- Mini-nuclear bomb. It can be found on a chair above the entrance to the theater, near the sleeping bag.
- Corset. It is worn by Cait.
- Picket Fences magazine #4. You will find it on the table in the front part of the fighting cage.
There are all sorts of loot in the numerous shacks in the Combat Zone, including a locked ammo crate in the top-right shack above the kitchen, and Stimpaks in what appears to be a drug prep area near the entrance. You’ll also find weapon and armor workbenches, as well as a chemistry station and two cooking stations.
Combat Zone in Fallout 4: Mods
To the disappointment of fans, Combat Zone was not finished and did not make it in the form it was supposed to be (an arena for a battle for caps). Just as cheats make Starcraft 2 better, so mods improve The Combat Zone in Fallout 4. A good mod called Combat Zone Restored restores the original cut content from the location.
And the Combat Zone Overhaul mod does a good job of expanding the gameplay, making it more diverse.
